OTP Bank Initiative for families affected by floods
Due to the heavy rain falls of recent times, the southern and south-eastern parts of Albania have been hit by major floods, leading to the evacuation of some 850 families from their houses. The situation in Vlora and Fier, Berat, Elbasan and Gjirokaster districts was more critical. The heavy rains going on uninterrupted increased the levels of the Vjosa, Devoll, Osum and Seman rivers which caused huge flooding in several areas endangering also some major national highways. The rise of the rivers threatened the nearby communes and villages especially in Levan, Novosele, Docove, Frakull, Bishan, Mifol, Ferras and Ura Vajgurore. The Albanian Government mobilized the State Police, the Military Units, and the Emergency Teams which assisted the affected families in high-risk areas. In this situation the Albanian Government invited companies as well the banking sector actors to support the affected families with donations. OTP Bank decided to contribute in this difficult situation and entered in contact with the State Civil Emergencies Directory in order to identify the commune to be supported and the most emergency needs of the families affected by flood. OTP Bank contributed to equip 30 families in Frakull village with: mattresses, pillows, sheets, blankets and food. In collaboration with the “Volunteer Center of Civil Emergencies”, employees from OTP Bank traveled in Frakull on Sunday, February 22nd to assist in the distribution of these aids to the families. This action was also transmitted by the national media Top News which was present in this action.
CSR at OTP Bank
Every year OTP Bank takes part is CSR activities, with support and donation to people in need. This present year a new idea was generated by Marketing Department to change the practice, and instead of the company, the main actor to be the staff. This way, not only CSR would be accomplished but what is most important the core values of the company such as; responsibility, commitment, innovation and team spirit would be applied in concrete. In parallel, our teams would have something different, interesting and pleasing for themselves to accomplish and get to know each other in a new situation, as friends and not only work peer. After the general presentation of the scope, where three main rules would have to be accepted, 14 teams built up totally volunteering. We saw high responsibility and commitment among our people being performed for three months. We realized the real team spirit flourish and great creative ideas on how to reach the objective. All the activities are communicated on Facebook and Instagram and the reaction of followers is amazing.

OTP Albania is conscious of its responsibility towards its employees, clients and environment and has included those concerns in its 2012 CSR strategy trough 4 main axes: human resources, responsible lending, environmental awareness and sponsorship.
